S2E8: Empowering Youth Networks Part 1

Show notes

Youth organizations can offer a lot of benefits for their members: Trainings, peer-to-peer coaching, increased income opportunities, development of the community, personal development, and friendships. Setting up a youth organization though needs a long breath and, in Curlstar’s case, at least one pair of new shoes. She walked endlessly from farm to farm in her home area, advertising for youths to join her on her mission to establish a network of young agripreneurs in Vihiga.

We talked with Curlstar and Hillary, her mentor and friend from another youth organization, about their vision for youth in agriculture, how learning from each other has helped them grow personally and as organizations, and why it is a good idea for youth to get organized and actively follow their passion.
